Himalayan Cedar Incense Sticks - Box of 40

Same species as the Devdar Stupa stick, different part of the tree. Cedrus deodara foliage carries a different chemical profile than the heartwood: higher in monoterpenes (α-pinene, β-pinene, limonene) and lower in the heavier sesquiterpenes that give the heartwood its slow, sweet depth. The result is a brighter, more vegetal, faster-developing register - the green opening of the species, separated from the deeper middle.

1. Hold the tip to a flame until it catches (5–10 seconds).
2. Blow the flame out so the stick smoulders.
3. Place in an incense holder on a heat-safe surface.
4. The citric opening arrives in the first minute; the resinous warmth develops across the burn.
5. Allow ash to cool fully before clearing.

Burns approximately 15–20 minutes per stick.

The same species can produce very different aromatic profiles depending on which part of the tree is used. Cedrus deodara heartwood is rich in himachalol and α-himachalene - heavy sesquiterpenes that build the deep, sweet, slow register the Devdar Stupa stick carries. The foliage carries lighter monoterpenes that volatilise faster and read brighter. One tree, two distinct aromatic personalities, separated by which part the workshop chooses to grind.
