Frankincense (Boswellia Sacra) Yemen Bliss Pack

Boswellia sacra is native to the southern Arabian Peninsula across what are now the borders of Oman and Yemen - both countries share the wider Dhofar-and-adjacent region where the species naturally grows. The bulk of contemporary commercial Hojari comes from Oman's Dhofar mountains; this Yemeni-origin product represents the same species harvested from trees growing across the political border, in territory that has been part of the frankincense trade since antiquity. Yemen has its own deep frankincense heritage - the ancient kingdoms of Saba, Hadhramaut, and Qataban built their wealth on this resin a thousand years before the Common Era.

Character on charcoal. The Yemeni Hojari opens with the characteristic citrus-resin brightness of Boswellia sacra - slightly different in profile from Omani Hojari, with terroir variations that experienced burners often pick up: a slightly drier resinous register, a different mineral note in the early minutes. The species is the same; the regional growing conditions write themselves into the resin.

1. Hold a charcoal tablet with tongs and light an edge.
2. Wait until the edges glow grey-white (30–45 seconds).
3. Place a small piece of resin on the warm tablet.
4. The aroma builds gradually - give it room and time.
5. A single tear scents a mid-sized room for thirty to forty-five minutes.

Burn on a heat-proof surface in a ventilated room. Allow charcoal to cool fully before disposal. The resin burns and chars; a small carbonised piece remains on the disc at the end of the session.

Boswellia sacra grows naturally across the southern Arabian Peninsula in a continuous range that today spans the modern political borders of Oman and Yemen. The trees themselves do not know the border; the same species, in trees that may be only kilometres apart, produces both the Omani Hojari and this Yemeni equivalent. Yemen carries one of the world's deepest frankincense heritages - the ancient Sabaean and Hadhramauti kingdoms of the southern Peninsula were built around this resin from the second millennium BCE onward, with Shabwa, Marib, and the wider Hadhramaut acting as caravan-trade hubs for centuries.
