Rose Quartz Crystal Bracelet Grade 5A

Rose quartz is the pink variety of quartz. SiO₂. Trigonal. Mohs 7. The pink comes from microscopic mineral fibres dispersed through the quartz - which is why the stone is translucent and cloudy rather than clear, and why strong sunlight can pale it over time.

It forms in the cores of granite pegmatites as large shapeless masses, not as terminated crystals. That is the reason rose quartz is cut and tumbled into beads and almost never sold as natural points - there are no natural points to sell.

The three variants are one mineral at different colour grades and sources. Standard runs pale; Grade 5A is a clearer, more saturated rose; Madagascar carries the deepest, most even colour of the three.

Why is it cloudy rather than clear?
Those same fibres scatter the light, so rose quartz reads translucent and soft. Clear rose quartz is the exception, not the rule.

Will the colour fade?
Prolonged strong sunlight can soften the pink over time. Rest it out of direct sun when it is not worn.

3. Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry.
4. Of the quartz family, rose quartz is the one most worth keeping out of strong direct sunlight - the same fibres that give the pink can pale under prolonged sun.

Many traditions rinse or air their stones from time to time; that is a matter of preference, and the rest is yours. The care that matters is practical: keep it dry, and rest it out of strong sun.

The elastic cord lasts longest kept dry - remove before swimming, bathing, or applying scent. Do not soak.
