Wild Hojari Frankincense (Oman) Bliss Pack

The same Boswellia sacra trees of the Dhofar mountains produce frankincense across a colour spectrum, from translucent green through amber to almost black. The Wild grade gathers the darker tears - those that formed slower, set deeper into the bark, and carry a richer concentration of oils. This is the resin that has welcomed guests across the Arabian Peninsula for thousands of years; the same gesture as the lighter grades, in a deeper voice. Less rare than Royal Hojari, but no less beautiful.

Character on charcoal. Wild Hojari opens slower and darker than its green sibling. The first minutes carry pine and a hint of black pepper; as the resin warms, the scent turns toward fir-bark and old wood, with a faint sweetness underneath. A heavier presence in the room than Royal Hojari, with longer-lasting aromatic depth.

Harvested by Dhofari families through the cooler months of the Omani harvest season, hand-sorted by colour and grade after the resin sets on the bark. The 25g format is the entry tin to the Maison Étherique resin range - enough for several extended sessions, sized to learn the material before committing to a 50g.

1. Hold a charcoal tablet with tongs and light an edge.
2. Wait until the edges glow grey-white (30–45 seconds).
3. Place a small piece of Wild Hojari on the warm tablet.
4. The aroma builds gradually - give it room and time. A single tear scents a mid-sized room for thirty to forty-five minutes.
5. Slightly less than Royal Hojari per session, since the oil content is higher.

Burn on a heat-proof surface in a ventilated room. Allow charcoal to cool fully before disposal. The resin burns and chars - a small carbonised piece remains on the disc at the end of the session.

Within the Hojari grading system, sorters separate tears by colour and clump size. Royal Hojari (al-Hojari al-akhdar, "the green Hojari") gathers the rare translucent-green tears that comprise only three to five percent of any harvest. Wild Hojari gathers the darker, deeper-coloured tears formed more slowly and with higher concentrations of essential oils - the everyday workhorse of the Hojari range, less rare than Royal but in many ways more characterful on charcoal. The Dhofar mountains of southern Oman are the world's primary source of Boswellia sacra, with the Khor Rori trade route having transported this resin across the Indian Ocean from the third century BCE through to the present. Frankincense improves with age - stored cool and dry, the resin's volatile compounds settle and the burn becomes deeper over time.
